FOD Book Cover Competition

Unfortunately, FOD has been facing a growing shortage of volunteers, and with a couple of key people stepping back over half term, it has become increasingly difficult to coordinate such a large event.

Their decision was not taken lightly, and after discussing it with FOD, we have agreed that a full refund will be issued for all entries received so far. We are excited to announce that the competition will now be open to ALL children! The school will take over coordination of the event, and I will personally provide the prizes.

Children will need to submit their entries to their class teacher in time for or on World Book Day. Our aim is to ensure that no child feels disappointed during this special time.

In relation to this, FOD are always asking for new members - Please do consider supporting by offering practical help so that events can continues to be run for the children.

Dressing in Designed T Shirts on the day

As you know, this year we are asking children to dressing / design their own Book themed T-Shirt. As part of this during the day there will be a fun Year group -level quiz where children in each class will work together to correctly guess the book T-shirts of their partner class. The class with the highest number of correct guesses in each year group will win a class prize!

We encourage children to be as creative as possible with their T-shirt designs, which can include temporary embellishments or additions to an existing T-shirt that they already own. We are in no way expecting every family to purchase a new T-shirt.

I hope this update alleviates any concerns regarding the FOD competition. It will now be an all-inclusive event run by the school.
